Excerpt from:
The Cost of Taxes
"Our system of taxation must be replaced by a national sales tax. It is the least oppressive, least obnoxious, most visible, most economical and most objectively fair way to collect taxes. Such an approach has its own problems, but they pale when compared to those we now suffer."

Act Now!
During this tax season, we here at Citizens for an Alternative Tax System ask that you take a few moments to write your Representative and Senators and ask for their support of the National Retail Sales Tax legislation, H.R. 2001. We expect the reintroduction of this bill in Congress sometime this spring.
Some members of Congress have indicated that there is not enough broad-based public support for ending our current tax system and replacing it with a National Retail Sales Tax.
You and I know that this is far from the truth. Talk to 100 people and you will find about 80 percent of them agree that the sales tax is a great idea.
We must make our voices heard and demand that Congress listen. You can help by writing to your Representative and Senators to ask them to sponsor the National Retail Sales Tax bill. When you are motivated and communicating with your Members of Congress, we will be closer than ever to real tax reform. The time to act is now!!
Hand-written letters are best, but however you communicate the important thing is that you do it now and do it regularly. You can also get others to do the same and increase the scope of our impact many times.
Please send copies of your letters to us here at Citizens for an Alternative Tax System so we can hold your Congressman accountable to the wishes of their constituents.
Make No Bones About It
CATS Las Vegas Chapter is definitely an organization. Please read the following piece and then do an honest evaluation as to which type of "bone" you are in the CATS organization.
"The body of every organization is structured from four kinds of bones. There are the wishbones, who spend all their time wishing someone would do the work. Then there are the jawbones, who do all the talking, but little else. The knucklebones knock everything anybody else tries to do. Fortunately, in every organization there are also the backbones, who get under the load and do most of the work."

Dear CATS Members:
We have experienced a large increase in the number of people contacting our Web Site over the last months. This probably has something to do with the national TV exposure we had from our 8-minute segment on the Business World News show called "Spotlight on Success". In fact, to get a count, how many of your saw that segment? It played nationally, with repeats in regional markets all across the country.
Over the years, "tax season" has given us an opportunity to increase the visibility for tax reform. Even though we started the year with a bang (O'Neill, Treasury Secretary -- "I'm very much of a mind that we need fundamental tax reform." Lindsey, Economic Advisor to the President, "...after the tax cut legislation is passed the President will pursue discussions on Fundamental Tax Reform."), the follow through has been truncated by the "POLITICS of tax cuts." Sensationnel roulette casino vous moisit sur ce site super!
On one side, important issues are not advanced because legislators do not want to 'cut across the Presidential agenda' and on the other side the well-worn class envy arguments are evoked for the billionth time. Politics trumps the path of reason and forward progress.
It is not difficult to see that many of the problems being discussed in and around the issue of tax cuts would be solved by trashing the current tax code that punishes work, savings and investment and going to a new system that collects tax revenue without harmful side effects. (We should apply the same standard to politics we do to the drug companies. Each bill proposed should have to list the adverse side effects!) free online games
So, this is where we need to act, to break through the "politics" and the notion that the national agenda is set "top down". Now, I am going to ask you to write - not e-mail. A study released last week indicates there is an "e-mail crisis" on Capitol Hill! The growth rate of e-mail messages to congress is about 1 million a month -- that is the INCREASE each month over the last. With a few exceptions, most congressional offices can't handle the flow. I don't think this will always be the case but for now, could you write to the President and to Congressman Tauzin and encourage them to: Клиника консультация флеболога Северный.
-
Move the fundamental tax reform agenda forward.
-
Express your interest in the National Retail Sales Tax.
-
And indicate you are associated with CATS.
Instead of a group demonstration on Capitol Hill this year, we are doing individual demonstrations -- one letter to Congressman Tauzin and one letter to the President. Here are the addresses:
President George W. Bush
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, DC 20220
Congressman Billy Tauzin
2182 Rayburn Bldg.
Washington, DC 20515
One of the basic successes of CATS is the notion that one active individual makes the difference. The liability of being part of the group is that we think someone else is handling it. This is how we lose, the activity rate drops, the opportunity is missed. So, take the viewpoint that you are the only one standing between a bright future under the NRST and the continual slide into degradation of our civil and economic lives! There is no one else around, it's just you.
